How will it work ?
A lecture and a set of homework and quizzes will be uploaded on this website, as well as on the NeutronPhysics subreddit platform, every two weeks.
You will be able to download the course materials as pdf files.
You will be able to send your homework by two different means :
Your answers to the homework can be in any form or shape, pdf files, word documents, scans,... As long as it is readable and understandable, I'll be happy !
If you have any problem, question or suggestion, please do not hesitate to message me about it, or/and use the dedicated subreddit to gather your classmates' opinions and help.
It is important to note that the University of Reddit does not deliver a diploma, and that the successful completion of this class could only give you a better self-fulfilling understanding of a part of the physics behind the important modern technology that the nuclear energy is. And bragging rights.
I will nonetheless grade your homework and quizzes, and you will also pass a final examination upon completion of the class. If such is your desire, I will also send you an attestation stating that you successfully passed this class. Such a document would be of no help whatsoever in the practical world, but it might become a fond memory or a beloved trophy for the effort you put into the class.

I missed the start of the class, can I still try and pass it ?
Of course ! I realize that, unlike on-site universities, and as a "bonus" activity,a system of semesters would be near impossible to set up efficiently. Therefore, you can start the class at any time. I will try my best to guide you. If for example I receive your answers to homework #2 on January 25, and that I do not hear from you in two months or so, I will try to contact you in order to know if there is a problem with the class, if you need help to understand something that made you give up, etc. But do not worry, I will not harass you, I have other things to do. I just now it is easy to drop out, and there is always a good reason for it. I will obviously not judge, merely try and get you back on if I can.
How do I know you received my homework answers ?
It obviously depends on my availability at the time, but I will always try and confirm reception within two days. AS for the correction time, it also depends on the number of students enrolled, so I will give you a rough estimate with my confirmation reply.
I do not see the file for the final examination anywhere, what do I do ?
I think that a limited time would be necessary for the final examination. In this regards, I will ask you to email me when you are ready to take it (have some free time ahead), and you will receive the file (through email, from a personalized link, whatever fits you) with a due date. After the due date, I will start to take percents off each late day. If that does not fit people, it may be discussed on the discussion platform (subreddit r/NeutronPhysics).
I think I failed the class, what now ?
If you fail, I failed. I will do my best to help you. The homework are here for that purpose. It is not a punishment or an annoyance (well, it might be, but trust me, that's not why I do it !). It allows me to see if you need more information on a subject, if my explanations weren't good enough, and it allows me to help you more efficiently.
If you get a homework set completely wrong, I will not reply "No good, 20%" and go on. I will contact you, set up a discussion in the subreddit and help you understand your mistakes. Never forget that if you don't know the answer, you're far from being alone. It's not a one-chance-only class. It's a "as long as you eventually get it, I don't care how many time you had to submit your answers" class.

The lecture notes are crippled with grammar mistakes, is this normal ?
I do my best not to make any mistake. English is not my native language (I am actually French). So, I beg you to pardon me for any grammar mistake you see. If a sentence does not make sense to you, do not hesitate to contact me about it.
